Mapmakers rejoice! The new updated map-making tool is coming soon with lots of new features to make your maps even better.
The World in Conflict map-making tool WicEd has been a corner stone in the modding community for quite some time now, and it has since its launch spawned countless of impressive maps. Some of these maps rose to fame in the Official Map Making Contest and they will soon be playable on the official World in Conflict servers.
The new WicEd update adds lots of new features to the tool, including new editors for the bloom and mood systems, new sleeker interface solutions and a brand new resolution editor. Here is a small sample of some of the coolest new features you can look forward to:
• Road intersection system added
• Detail texture override edit tool (realtime detail texture painting)
• Splatting mask edit tool (you no longer have to use external bitmap editor)
• Deploy mask editor added to gameplay map (you no longer have to use external bitmap editor)
• New terrain cut out tool added (paint holes in the ground in realtime)
• New editor for the mood system (make weather change depending on destruction)
• New editor for the bloom system (make your own hollywood style post filters)
• Resolution editor added (concentrate texture detail where it matters most)
• Ability to visualize the real ingame path maps (see how the pathfinding will actually work)
