I just got this game a couple of days ago, been playing the single player alot. I want to start getting involved in multiplayer...what would be the best/easiest role to play to get involved without screwing my team up totally? Thanks!
armor or inf are easy play with some bots and see how you do
Probably armor to start. It is the most intuitive of the roles to play. From there you will develop a sense of what the other units are doing and can then switch around.

All we really do not need is another artillery player ;) (obviously you paid for the game so if you choose that eventually fine...just expect occasional grief for it).

I'd say infantry is the most difficult role to play well. It takes a lot of micro management to play well (but played well they can be fiendishly annoying).

armor cause u can do some stupid crap with it and still score whore easily.
Every role is easy to play, but difficult to master. That's what makes this game so great.

Air->Armor->Support->Infantry imho.
Air is fun and easy to play in the start since you don't really have to worry about the control points, you just fly around the map killing stuff and try to avoid AA. Armour should also be easy, but still i have seen a lot of useless amour players.

Truth.
when i was a noob i play armor and it was easy
infantry is tricky but when u do ply tht keep moving even when fighting the longer you are in 1 place the most vulnerable to napalm you are ive lost 8 units of INF to napalm

Armor seems the obvious one to me. It has some relatively tough units and it's fairly easy to help
your team even if you don't know a lot of controls but still know what the command points are for :)
Doesn't matter much if you never use the special abilities on your medium or heavy tanks.

Air is second, you may score a lot of kills and get fast to where the action is but you need
to be more cautious and it helps if you know where to expect to find enemy units.
Can't do much without using both flares and missiles.

Infantry is a harder because they tend to die really fast until you find out about cover, sprint,
reinforce and which unit is good against which.

Support can be easy to score well with if you have someone doing scouting and you're playing
against other beginners but overall I'd say it's the hardest to play well when you're against
experienced players. It's also easy enough to aggravate team players with friendly fire :)

Don't play support... It's really frustrating when you have a bad support player in the team..
I will recommend air or armor... Infantry is a bit more tricky...

Everybody is probably going to shoot me for this,
but I think that Heavy Anti Air is good for starters :)

You buy 4 HAAs, stick with your team mates and almost accidentaly
you kill some enemy units or even capture a command point :D

But please don't give in to the dark side and don't go artillery without experience.
Otherwise you won't learn anything :D

I'll go with that one too. But I'd through in a repair truck or two, but keep them with an armour player. That was my first role, and I quite liked it. But know when you are beaten, if you loose your armoured escort, fall back to a friendly zone, don't hang around and try to be a hero...
heli->AntiAir->Tank-> Inf

imo :)
start with helis, flying around everywhere killing all (something new player rly love) and avoiding AA (what they never do )

then, when u got a sense how the air players play, go anti air and follow some tank ppl. so u dont need to worry were to go.

then, u can use tank and try to get some micro in it.

and finally, play the master role, infantery :)

I'd split support in 2.

Support [AA]->Infantry->Support[Arty]

Once you learn the ropes of infantry ... you're a deadly anti-infantry arty player.

;)

nah, HAA's a good start - learn yourself how to support your team's armor & kill stuff at the same time.

I agree with your advice on arty tho. You should really know how Infantry fares against arty before you start using it. Once you know the weaknesses of your units ... you'll be that much better at killing them. :)

Or try Heavy Artillery... you can shoot from afar easily... ^^
"What goes around, comes around; You get what you deserve; Which is why you better think before you act!"
The only bad thing about infantry is that their so fragile.
I would say armour.

Its the easiest class to play,straight forward kill and hold.
Armor is the easiest to get into since most people know what to do, but after that they should try out air, then inf and lastly support. Imho

Support-heavy arty
Just get on and try each one .... instead of roles Id just get as many maps rotated as you can untill things become a little clearer in your head. Watch whats happening and it will soon come to you.

DONT get stuck on one role though....get familiar with them all !!
