My laptop can do it, but anytime a nuke is set off...it cries a little bit.

I'm running on an Asus C90S:

2.13 dual core 2
2gb ram
160gb harddrive
GeForce 8600M GT 512M

Wish I had a gaming desktop, but alas, I like taking my computer with me. :)

Great job getting the minimum specs that low, I mean, nowadays, some games don't even run on a 2.96 Ghz because of minimal 3... which I hate... what I like so much is the enormous list of graphic options... this makes the game "new" on my sys, and when I finally buy a new system, I'll have a new game to play... Great work, keep it up... The demo runs smooth with my omly 256 of VidMem, which is also not so common for new titles... need to keep the settings low, but hey, it's about the gameplay...

You first "WOW'ed" me with some trailers, then you "WOW'ed" me with the fact it run on my PC, and then "WOW'ed" me with the smoothness... finally I got "WOW'ed" by the fun involved... I'm not someone to get "WOW'ed" easy... Just great you managed it... I guess this game owns every C&C game we've seen till now... Since I heard there will be no RA3, I'm telling you that WiC just taken over its place on my "What games to Watch closely"-list... didn't think it would happen... it did...

My home computer does that too, but I just look at the pretty light and I am happy :)
I am no longer an employee of Massive Entertainment.

as far i know you only need a graphics card that can run Vista Aero and atleast a dual core with 1GB RAM, to play the wic demo at the lowest settings without lag
so any pc after 2003 whould play it nicly

I think this game looks and runs better than C&C3. So I wouldn't worry too much about the sys reqs. Everyone should dl the demo and give it a try.

I hope the retail game does a better job of figuring out "default" settings for various computers upon install. There will be alot of upset people if their game plays choppy on lower end systems the way the demo currently does without proper tweaking. (Might be worth patching the demo for this issue as well. A clear disincentive to buy the game if people don't take the time to figure out the settings and think it's either choppy game or no game.)

My laptop runs it fine but when a nuke is set off it slows down a bit but when 2 or more are set off then i just have a half white screen that goes slow but then picks speed back up

Will an FX 5200 run it? I can't download the demo and I don't think any magazines around here have the demo yet.

Hello Vextor,

I have a question that probably a lot of Mac users have:
WIC probably won't run on a Mac if Mac OSX is used.
But will it be possible to run WIC by using an aplycation which allowes you to use windows on your Mac.
Will it run, for example, with the VMWare Fusion aplycation?

I hope you can anwer my question :)
Thanks, Drahk`Mar

tried wic demo on this system runs ok,tho nukes slow down lots if looking directly at them ,(always turn away from the flash,as those 1980s nuclear war survival leaflets told us lol)

athlon 1800
768 meg 266 mem
nvidia 5600with 256meg 240 core speed 400 mem spd
generic asrock motherboard

and can play multiplayer no real probs game settings are)(so far...started out at the very bottom)
1280*1024 res
settings to low but bitmaps set to medium and high for ground and general scenery

still see cammo and insignia on units etc only really slows down for nuke as mentioned so carpet bombing ftw

nVidia 7300 is not good for gaming, you need at least 7500 ;-)

The offcial recomended settings - it's BS.

Here is the real performance test made by Hilbert Hagedoorn at www.guru3d.com .

Quick links:

Performance test at Medium image quality

Performance test at Very High image quality

All these tests were carried out on very powerfull PC and the latest drivers:

Test system
NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI mainboard
Core 2 Duo x6800 processor
Corsair Dominator 1142 MHz DDR2 memory ( I guess it's on 2048 MB (2x1024MB) like in his other reviews)
Windows Vista 32-bit
NVIDIA ForceWare 163.71
ATI Catalyst 7.9

Yep this is about right, my work machine is simaler to the Top spec machine in the review only it's a Quad Core. My home P4 3ghz with 2 gig ram and 1900 XTX can't run the first mission even at medium settings.

There are too many pissed of members who have bought this game, me included. I'm taking mine back today. I'll keep reading the forum, but I've spent too much time trying to get the game to work, and not playing it. Come on Massive, admit at least you've screwed this up for some of us.

I don't understand why people are having so much trouble running this game. My system specs are quite low, but the game runs fine with about 60% settings on high and 40% on medium.

System specs

Athlon 64 3200+
1024 meg DDR
X1950pro

Pixel shaders on high, texture on high, distance medium, most if not all of the tick boxes that can be ticked are ticked. I can update this post later with more specific settings. The in game benchmark gives me an average frame rate of 26, and it only gets choppy in game when a nuke or carpet bomb is dropped. Game graphics are spectacular and I love the rendered cutscenes.

What would you say I need to run decent fps on very high with all of my ati x1600 catalyst options on highest?
hi, am im just confused? im new here, please dont bite me. I got this Game Ground Control 2 Game and the graphics are very cool, GC2, its like playing Battlefield 2142 in close view, but why is it running smoothly on my PC? but i tried WIC Demo, well i can run in on low settings to avoid lags, is there any option for WIC to use DX7, 81 and shader 1.0 - 3.0? and if OpenGL? i hope i can play WIC just like GC2 smoothly. hehe! yes here are my specs:

P4 2.7GHz, 768MB DDR, 256MB Radeon X1600 Pro. is the battleneck my Ram? or Processor?

I love your first game GC which is now Free and GC2 is just fun.

P.S. To developer Team: the time is so short for a battle in skirmish game, is there any Advance option for skirmish like you can only archive victory when all your enemy is eliminated? not by points or time? please, i hope you can add that. i know im not the only one will love that.

Thanks, replies are appreciated much...
